24 week bump update

24 weeks pregnant

PREGNANCY WEEK: 24

GENDER: Boy, whom I like to call Little Bro. I’m so excited JM will have a little brother he can rough house with. Last weekend while visiting James’ family in Augusta, JM pushed his cousin Eden a couple times. Despite telling him to be gentle, I’m just not sure he understood. At least with another boy I won’t have to worry about him being rough like his daddy!

WEIGHT GAIN: 12 pounds as of 22 weeks.

CRAVINGS: I’ve had no consistent cravings; I want something one day then the next I could care less. I bought a couple pints of icecream a couple weeks ago, and specifically bought one in mint chocolate chip flavor for James. James is not a sweets person, so he had barely made a dent in his pint as of last week. But being pregnant and wanting icecream on a couple occasions last week, I decided to polish it off for him. He was not too happy about the outcome, but Little Bro sure was 🙂

MATERNITY CLOTHES: I’m breaking out the spring maternity wear, which is much fresher than my non-maternity spring wardrobe. Pregnant or not, I’ve always tended to wear more fitted clothes. I feel like loose and flowy, though definitely trendy right now, just doesn’t flatter me that much. Get ready for some bump pics that really show off Little Bro over the coming months.

SYMPTOMS: As of this past week, JM is finally sleeping through the night–on a good night 12 straight hours. And as luck would have it, now that he’s sleeping great, this pregnant mama is not so much. And honestly, I haven’t been sleeping great throughout this whole pregnancy, but if I could just get my body to start now–since JM is sleeping great–then I think a couple months of good sleep would do me a world of good before Little Bro comes and I’m a walking zombie. My sleep woes are typically attributed to frequent bathroom trips, achy hips or thinking about our soon-to-be house and everything I need to do to prepare for it.

WORKOUTS: I made it to the gym Thursday and Friday and felt good doing light workouts both days. Thursday I did kettlebell swings, pushups, push press and lunges, while Friday’s WOD was consisted of slamballs, burpees and rowing. Both WODs were only 10-12 minutes, and I focused more on moving and form than speed and time.
