Meet the Newest Contributor

It’s hard to believe I started this blog in 2010. Back then (before kids), I was posting mostly about paleo recipes, CrossFit and family trips. Nowadays–when I have time to blog–I post about motherhood and more motherhood, it seems.

So to round out my content a little better and to give a more complete perspective into daily life at our Hobson Homestead, I’ve enlisted a new contributor.

He’s 10 times more interesting and more opinionated than I am. He’s the man of a thousand hobbies and a serial entrepreneur. He’s a voracious reader when it comes to fiction or news articles. He’s quick on his feet whether he’s spouting off advice or consolidating complex ideas–and just as quick when it comes to¬†physical activity. His self-assuredness may leave you raising your eyebrows, but he’s mellowing out with age.

My mom always said that I would never be able to marry a man who wasn’t smarter than me, and she was right (just don’t tell him that!).

Without further ado, I’m so excited that my husband James will begin contributing to The Hobson Homestead. He says he already has 15 blog posts “locked and loaded” in his head. You’ll hear from him about a range of topics, from hydroponics to cryptocurrency to entrepreneurship to book recommendations.

After 10 years of marriage, this guy still surprises me so I’m hoping his post topics will pique your interest. A huge welcome to the Patriarch of The Hobson Homestead–a new contributor to the blog, but a long-time contributor to my life.

I'm a full-time wife and semi-stay-at-home mom to four young kids. Day to day, I help my husband with his small business, but when I have any extra time, you can find me cooking or being active outdoors with my family. We live at the foothills of the North Georgia mountains and are embracing modern homesteading month by month.
