I’m Haley, a mid-thirty-something mom of four who is making my way back into the corporate world through freelancing as a social media manager. I spent 10 years working in communications for companies such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Nielsen Business Media before leaving corporate life to be more present for my kids.
Though I have blogged since 2010 at hobsonhomestead.com, in March 2017, I began freelancing as a Social Media Manager for small- to medium-sized businesses in the Greater Atlanta Area. I’ve found a way to keep my toes in the business world while still taking care of my family. I work from my home up near Lake Lanier, but am available for periodic meetings for my clients in the Greater Atlanta Area.
Over the past couple years, my clients have ranged from businesses in the home services industry (foundation repair, garage doors, roofing, general contractor, tree services) to retail (both brick-and-mortar shops and online stores) to non-profit organizations.

When it comes to social media, I manage varying platforms for my clients, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest. My initial meetings with my clients lay the groundwork for building a content strategy and overall goals. For many of my clients, I focus on brand awareness, engagement and driving traffic to their website.

In addition to managing social accounts, I also manage applicable review sites for my clients, including Google Business, Yelp, Angie’s List, Home Advisor, Houzz and Next Door. I update company profile information, special coupons and photos as needed, as well as respond to reviews after getting client approval. In addition, I promote positive reviews across the company’s social channels.
I have many skills that play into successful social media management, including writing (blog posts, articles, press releases, newsletters), copy editing, unique image creation and knowledge of basic HTML as well as AP style.
I also have experience using WordPress, Hootsuite, Canva, Tailwind and Google Analytics.
Below are a few sample posts from one of my current clients. Hover over each graphic for the accompanying caption. When creating images, I stick within a client’s brand palette. I also vary messaging each week to focus on a variety of topics such as services/products, expertise, accolades, company culture, seasonal messaging and positive reviews.
While I am open to varying pricing structures for Social Media Management, I’ve found that a tiered monthly approach works best for me. For prospective clients, I send out a proposal outlining my monthly tasks after our initial phone call.
